Shift differential $0.75/hour
Job Purpose
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is the first point of contact for inbound and outbound shipments. This position performs duties too varied and diverse to be classified in any specific office clerical occupation, requiring limited knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of individual establishments and may include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing. This position is responsible for preparing shipping documents, managing appointments in a timely manner. Responsible for sending inventory reports, shortages and managing the shipping office’s daily functions.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Manage the shipping department and driver’s workflow to ensure production and shipping needs are covered at all times.

Manage driver’s appointments to minimize dwell times.

Work conscientiously on shipping and delivery documents to meet production needs.

Prioritize orders based on shipping needs.

Coordinate shipment plan with management, forklift drivers and outside carriers to eliminate shipping shortages and constructing a wash plan.

Work with an elevated level of professionalism with outside carriers, customers and when representing MT.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive records including reporting accurate inventory.

Prepare proper transport documentation.

Report shipping inconsistencies immediately to a member of leadership.

Ensure documents are accurate and in line with MT’s brand standards and maintain and update the information systems (SAP).

Work with admin and production support to ensure information is provided on time and accurately.

Demonstrate willingness to work independently, taking on new tasks, and sharing creative ideas while remaining a part of the MT Team.

Set and achieve company targets on a regular basis.

Follow all company policies, programs, and procedures.

Follow IFCO shipping, returns, washing and recollection procedures.

Adhere to all applicable federal laws, regulatory & company policies, GMPs and Health and Safety procedures.
Qualifications
Highschool Diploma required.

0-3 months’ experience in an administrative or receptionist role.

Shipping & Receiving experience preferred.

Experience in customer service.

Computer literate in Email, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. SAP and Winprod knowledge preferred.

Knowledge of basic food hygiene, manual handling of food crates, and health and safety procedures knowledge is desirable.

Demonstrate good interpersonal communication, delegation, motivation, and briefing skills to perform this role.

Be a competent team player with strong professional skills able to collaborate with a workforce with a broad diversification and multicultural demographic, sometimes with limited proficiency in English, bilingual a plus (Spanish/French – Creole).

To be personable, reliable, confident, and self-motivated, as it is beneficial if employees can work on their own initiative while following instructions accurately.

Required to work overtime based on business needs.

Time management, scheduling, and prioritization skills.

Ability to use Outlook to communicate accurately by email and ability to learn MS Word, utilize MS Excel spreadsheets, Winprod, SAP and other software applications necessary.

Ability to appropriately prioritize resources based upon needs.
Working conditions

Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift is less than 25 lbs. occasionally.
